Volunteer training
The rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife is important work and that's why CROW offers free training for new volunteers. As they learn about ways to help sick, injured and orphaned wild animals, participants meet other individuals who are enthusiastic about the natural world. Volunteers need no previous experience to take part in the training, and once they complete a course they can take advantage of many opportunities to serve wildlife through compassionate care and public education. Additional in-depth training and mentoring partnerships are also available in specific areas of interest.
For an ongoing class schedule, visit the calendar of events. Volunteer training focuses on:
- VERT (Volunteer Emergency Rescue Transport)
- 1st Responders / Patient Admissions
- Feeding Baby Birds
- Grazing Gopher Tortoises
- Serving as a Museum Greeter
- Educator providing public in-house and outreach programs
