Executive Director

 

Steve Greenstein brings extensive leadership, legal and community relations experience to his role as CROW executive director. He most recently served as executive director of the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce, and was formerly Assistant City Solicitor for the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore before arriving in Florida. Steve has also served as a consultant for the Sanibel Community Association and the Southwest Florida Community Foundation.

Steve was awarded the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Walter Klie Lifetime Achievement Award and the Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureaus Junonia Award in 2006, and he is a former board member of the Sanibel Captiva Kiwanis, Old Schoolhouse Theater Foundation and Bat Yam Synagogue, Sanibel.

 

Heather Barron, DVM Heather Barron, DVM

Hospital Director

Dr. Heather Wilson Barron, was recently the Department Head of Veterinary Clinical Sciences and a Professor of Exotic Animal Medicine at St. Matthew's University, School of Veterinary Medicine in Grand Cayman. She provided medical and surgical care for resident and free-ranging Caribbean turtles as Medical Director for The Cayman Turtle Farm.

Heather is one of less than 200 boarded specialists in avian medicine and is the Immediate Past-President of the Association of Avian Veterinarians. In 2005, she received the Young Achiever Award from the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association for her efforts in establishing the Wildlife Treatment Center at the University of Georgia.



Ava HinojosaAva Hinojosa

Managing Director

 

As managing director, Ava Hinojosa oversees operations, programs, events and CROW's website. Ava founded and led two New Jersey based businesses, worked as director of marketing, revenue & reservations for The Pines Resort, near California's Yosemite National Park, and served as interim executive director and director of operations positions with the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce. 

Ava has served as a trustee on the board for the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum, a member of the City of Sanibel Emergency Management Team, City of Sanibel Vegetation Committee and taught community CPR classes for the Sanibel Fire Department.
