the CROW Staff
Quality
and committed staff are very important to the success of
any organization, and in particular, CROW Here at CROW,
our staff are 100% committed to the mission of CROW and
the care and rehabilitation of our sick, injured and orphaned
wildlife. They live and breathe CROW, many of them taking
patients home with them in the evening. We appreciate them
and hope that you will have an opportunity to meet some
of them when you come to CROW for one of our public presentations.

Dr.
PJ Deitschel
Staff Veterinarian
Clinic Director

Dr.
PJ Deitschel, Staff Veterinarian and Clinic Director,
has been a wildlife rehabilitator for 20 years, caring
for over 40,000 wild animals representing more than 200
different species. She obtained her veterinary degree
from Colorado State University in 1996 and then served
as CROW’s first Annual Veterinary Intern. After
a year in South Africa learning about wildlife rehabilitation
on the other side of the globe, PJ returned to CROW in
1998 to serve as the Staff Veterinarian. PJ is a student
of the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary
Medicine and emphasizes the integration of western and
eastern traditions in her treatment of CROW's patients.

Dr.
Amber McNamara
Associate Veterinarian |
Dr.
Amber McNamara, is a native of Mt. Vernon,
Indiana. After working for several years as a veterinary
assistant in small animal clinics in southern Indiana, she
began veterinary school in 1999. Her first taste of CROW
came when working as a student extern in the summer of 2001.
Following graduation from Purdue University in 2003, she
returned as CROW’s Annual Veterinary Intern and is
excited to be able to continue working at CROW as Associate
Veterinarian. |

Ann Turner

Sea Turtle Technician

Our
Rehabilitator, "Cat" Turner came
to CROW as a volunteer in October of 2001. She then filled
a CROW fellowship in March 2003 and pounced on the opportunity
to fill the Sea Turtle position when it came available in
September 2003. Cat had previously worked as a kennel manager
and veterinary technician in Fort Myers. |

Nikki Talianko
Staff Rehabilitator

Nikki
Talianko began working at CROW as an Extern in
2002. She completed several externships while studying Zoology
and Chemistry at Ohio Wesleyan University. Following her
graduation in 2005, she returned to CROW as a Fellow, before
joining the staff as a Rehabilitator the following year.

Eileen Pyatak
Business Manager |
Eileen
Pyatak, a Rutgers graduate, comes to us from NJ
where she held a successful career as Assistant Controller
for one of the state's leading home health care agencies.
Upon moving to the Sanibel vicinity in October 2002, Eileen
wanted to dedicate her time and business operational experience
to an area that she had always been more passionate about.
Having admired CROW for a time before moving to Florida,
Eileen is proud to be a member of the CROW family.

Anita
A. Pinder, Community Outreach Coordinator, began
her career at CROW in 1986, substituting for her daughter's
volunteer duty one week. Since that day, in addition to
many volunteer duties, Anita has served on the board of
directors and as CROW's Office Manager from 1987 to 1990,
returning to CROW
in 1994. Anita and her husband Mike have three grown daughters
and three grandchildren. |
